Did you know I’ve built 40 homes in Denver since 2010?
Well, I have.

There was Tennyson 7, Navajo 8 (that’s the one where one of the contractors threw me across the jobsite), then there was Pecos 15, the duplex I built for myself to live in, then a duplex in City Park, a quad-plex in South Sloan’s Lake, a gorgeous single family home in Highlands Square, and now an amazing new single-family home a few doors off Sloan’s Lake with incredible views – more to come on this next week.
When most kids were dreaming about being a baseball player, I dreamt of being a builder. I even used to spend my time building my dream home out of balsa wood and glue when I was a little kid – I only cut myself with the xacto-knife thrice.
I love this stuff. Solving problems, watching a 2-dimensional drawing come to life, watching people smile when they move in. It is a dream come true.
But my days of being on site and managing sub-contractors are years behind me – I leave that for my talented partners. My work as a real estate agent is what I’m most passionate about and I love that I get to use my experience on construction sites to help clients.
On the seller side I get to help them through creative updates to ensure they sell their homes faster and for more money. When the inspection objection comes in, I’m able to see through the BS to know that the house doesn’t actually need a new roof.
On the buyer side, I get to help my clients understand the costs to make certain updates and/or improvements to a home. I get to tell them to run from a house because I can see where corners were cut. On the inspection I get to help them figure out what the real issues are that we need to request from the seller and what are items that are less concerning.
And for buyers and sellers my construction background means I always have “a guy” to help with any project.
I have always liked the concept of home – likely because my dad moved over 30 times during my lifetime. I love that I get to help people find home every day – and sometimes I even get to help build it for them.
